Contextualization
Context is the first gate a design concept must pass through on its way towards realization. Municipal Codes and Zoning regulations will govern. Views, solar exposure, topography and other site conditions will inform. Asking the right questions early on and understanding how these contextual parameters will inform the project saves costly rework.
Visualization
Modeling a design in Sketchup or working in a BIM environment like Revit allows for a better understanding of the space or building. The model provides a platform to visually explore the implications of design decisions and variations. Having the ability to explore a model on the screen and walk through it allows for the identification of potential issues to avoid and opportunities to seize.
Integration
A coordinated design incorporates input from the entire team, and balances and prioritizes these inputs to arrive at the final design. Continuous dialogue and clear communications are critical to creating a high performing and beautiful spaces.
